Probiotics for Toddlers

For parents who are taking Probiotics, they may wonder if these healthy bacteria can be given to their kids so that they may enjoy the same benefits of health that they, the parents do. The good news for these parents is that they can help their kids to get healthy and stay healthy by adding these good bacteria to their daily intake. It is important for your kids and their health as it is to you and your body.

Probiotics are good bacteria that can treat and prevent different ailments in the human body, including a child’s. Almost all infants and children get sick and most of the time it can be one infection after another. In today’s world, a doctor will write many prescriptions for antibiotics and many in the medical field and out think that they are actually overprescribed.

One of the reasons that antibiotics can only be ordered with a prescription is that they should never be taken unless they are necessary. Whenever you are or your child takes antibiotics it is destroying bacteria in your body. The problem is that the antibiotics cannot tell the difference so it will attack all of the bacteria, even the good ones like the ones found in Probiotics. Eventually our bodies will become immune to the antibiotics as the bad bacterium becomes more difficult to fight.

By taking Probiotics, you are putting back the good bacterium that may have been lost thanks to the antibiotics and you will be helping to reduce the chances that your child will become ill again with stomach, intestinal problems and diarrhea.

When a child gets sick from diarrhea, it can be hard to keep them from becoming dehydrated as they will not want to eat or drink. Eventually they will become sicker and weaker. Introducing the good bacterium is one of the many ways that you can help to prevent and fight this illness.

As parents become obsessed with anti-bacterial everything, kids are become sicker because they are not being exposed to bacteria and germs, which means that when they do come in contact with them, their immune systems cannot fight it. This causes the children to become ill, some will be sicker than others. By exposing them to the good bacteria, you are helping their immune system and digestive tract to become stronger, so that their bodies can fight any bad germs that they will eventually come into contact with.

With children, it will always be easy for them to pick up germs because they come into contact with other kids, they do not wash their hands unless they are told and they cough and sneeze on each other constantly. Children also do not eat what they should and parents can sometimes find it hard to get them the recommended daily nutrition that their bodies need. Kids are also sensitive to infections in their throats and ears and these infections can reoccurs for years.

These are only a few of the reasons that kids should be given the good bacteria that is in Probiotics. In the long run parents will be providing a healthy lifestyle for their children and helping them to have a good immune system for the times that they will inevitably come into contact with germs.
